Supernatural Power of a Renewed Mind - Bill Johnson of www.iBethel.org - When the Church walks in supernatural wisdom (providing solutions to the needs of the world) and walks in power (confronting the infirmities and torments of darkness) we will know what He meant when He said, "Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising!" Disk 7 of 8 - Unto Perfection - The renewed mind looks at circumstances as God would look at those circumstances; has liberal access to the entire realm of faith. Thy will be done on earth as it is heaven; that's His will - on earth like it's done in heaven. Most of the church has missed the bulk of what Jesus has taught about the Kingdom. Yes, it is also a future reality when you die, but the larger part, that He taught and illustrated in practice, is that the Kingdom of God is equally a present tense reality, exists in the invisible realm and is superior to everything you and I can see, smell, taste and touch. When Jesus talked about the Kingdom, He said, "repent" (change the way you think) because the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand (at hand means "within reach" or "ready for use" ... it's NOW, not some future date). The Kingdom is the King's Dominion. In heaven no cancer exists. Jesus tells us to pray, thy kingdom come on earth (as it is in heaven; there is no cancer in heaven), therefore, prayer is the place of access into the impossible. God, let your world come crashing into this world called cancer. The cancer cannot stand if these two worlds collide. In the same way we turn a light on in the room, and darkness dissipates, in the same way, when the Kingdom comes, diseases, infirmity, torment cannot remain (their hold is broken). This is central to the normal Christian life. The renewal of the mind is done to prove, demonstrate, illustrate, what the will of God is. The renewed mind is able to manifest the dominion of God. Out of intimacy with God, we are assigned to destroy the works of the devil. This is the privilege of life. The renewed mind is the essential, necessary gift for that to take place. The renewed mind takes place because of the Spirit of Revelation (Holy Spirit gifting, imparting revelation and angels with the assignment of lifting the veil, opening eyes to unseen things). Example: In prayer God shows the parent they have a back-slidden child; then He shows them their restoration; the greater the revelation a person sees the greater the faith that person moves into, and a greater authority they begin to exercise. (God's Power is His Authority given to us to negate Satan’s actions) We sit with confidence, knowing it's only a matter of time (though the child is currently in sin) because I've already seen it ahead of time. I've seen tomorrow (confidence). In confidence authority is expressed equal to our measure of faith. We have all authority is given to us, but faith accesses that authority that we act in, according to the measure we have faith. Faith is our umbilical cord that taps into that realm of authority, to the degree I have. Faith can only operate in the revealed will of God. The problem of deception: If I believe, for example, that its not God's desire to heal everyone, then I have a hurdle to cross every time someone comes to me who's sick. I have to first find an answers, or settle an issue in my heart, is it really God's will for that person? If I live in that realm of deception, I have cut myself off from releasing faith in this entire area called the revealed will of God. Like a corral, as God expands our understanding of what His will is, our faith is free to operate in that expanse. If I believe it's God's will that everyone be healed, I'm past one major hurdle already. I already have a default (computer term); things pre-determined. Now it's just an issue of contending for what God has for them. Deception creates only these small areas for faith to operate. Hosea 4:6 My people are being destroyed because they don't know me (lack of knowledge) NLT. (Know me - understand my will). Not from a lack of book learning; this deals with the Spirit of Revelation. This is nothing we can unravel from the Bible. It's locked up in the realm of mystery. There will be areas we don't understand because they are hidden in mystery (to be revealed to us; hidden from the enemy and the world). Watchman Nee said there must be something wrong with his series called the "Spiritual Man"; they are too perfect, answering every question, but I removed the realm of mystery, so I know something is wrong. Lot of wisdom in that statement. We must live in that continual conflict of getting understanding; living in a realm of faith with mystery. The knowledge of God cannot be gleaned out of a book, it must be revealed to us. The mysteries of the Kingdom are not hidden from you, they are hidden for you, so that they cannot be trampled upon by people who are careless. Don't throw pearls before swine (not, that person is a pig); don't take something of value (revelation gained thru conflict [irritation] and difficult experience growing in the kingdom) and put it in front of just anybody (price to be paid). The God who hid gold in rocks is the One who said, it's the glory of kings to search out a matter, but it's the glory of God to conceal it. When we're talking about the knowledge of God, we're talking about a realm we have liberal, absolute, free access to, but it's not to be taken lightly, because it cannot be entered into without the assistance of the Holy Spirit. We have such diverse beliefs throughout the body of Christ in insignificant areas - there is coming a spirit of revelation on the church that will put everybody on a level playing field. There are areas of deception that every denomination are blind to, that others have insight to. God refuses to give the whole thing to one group or person. He is working to make us interdependent members of one another. In the last days God is going to release a spirit of revelation over the church, concerning the areas where we've had differences, to cause repentance - we begin to see Him as He is; we hear His Word as He declares it and we are literally taught by the Spirit. The Bible says it's the Anointing that teaches us. There is a realm of learning that is not by the Anointing - it's by the reasoning of man embracing spiritual principles. You can obey the Lord in Biblical principle and have a measure of success, yet never obey by being empowered by His Spirit. The principles of the Bible can work for businesses, home, family life, any area of life. Study it, reduce it, boil it down to key points, and live it (integrity, respect, responsibility). Yet they have never lived under the empowerment; the launching of the Spirit of God. The hour is coming when we all will learn to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit living within us (common revelation). There is an hour, when all will know Him, seeing similar things (no matter the group or country - why? We have one Father). When He talks to His people, He tends to talk about the same subject with everyone (USA and Brazil - hearing the same stuff). We are all coming from our diverse opinions and priorities all being brought together on one page, while still valuing uniqueness. Proverbs - Vision means prophetic revelation (not goals). Without divine revelation there will be no life (perish) there. Hosea 6:1 "Come, let us return to the LORD! He has torn us in pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds. 2 In just a short time (2 days, raise us on 3rd day), he will restore us so we can live in his presence. 3 Oh, that we might know the LORD! Let us press on to know him! Then he will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring." Many believe the 3rd day represents (Jesus died 2000 thousand years ago, a day to the Lord is like a thousand years) the beginning of our time on earth where God will accomplish things He's never done before. (Bill, I like that, so I vote yes :) Let us press on to know (NAS); hunt down and chase this opportunity to know the Lord by experience. If we require understanding first we limit what we can experience. I trust Him to give the Holy Spirit to them that ask. This passage in Hosea 6 is talking about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. He will come to us like rain. Rain - violent outpouring of the Spirit of God. Eph. 1:17 asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. 18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the wonderful future he has promised to those he called. I want you to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance he has given to his people (those who believe). Revelation knowledge brings us into divine encounter; my awareness is transformed and I am personally changed. Press on to know. The Biblical standard for getting people saved is in Acts 2: finding a group of people that are receptive to the Spirit of God, so that as God Himself falls upon that group of people, and they are responsible to the anointing, He will transform the atmosphere over entire cities and regions. He will work beyond my understanding. If He doesn't, I'm in trouble. If I understand everything He does, then I've boiled God down to my size and we're all to be pitied. The outpouring of the Spirit comes to people open to divine revelation. Revelation knowledge expands us, and our faith - it's an invitation to the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us and the cities we live in. Eph. 4:11 He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers (5 fold ministry). 12 Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ, 13 until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ. Jesus is not coming for a bride with her hair up in rollers; or a dissected one whose body parts are all over the room. Too many churches are divided from one another. This 5 fold group is to function in such a way that releases people to their destiny (note: spiritual garage sales - getting people together offering their services and abilities to one another) - the end result is coming together in unity; a common knowledge of Jesus we've never before imagined. The spirit of revelation will come thru the 5 fold ministry, as we come to the knowledge of Christ, who will be worshipped forever and ever. Bill is sowing the seeds for national reformation. There is a revelation about the person of Jesus that has been withheld from us, that will astound us. We will lie pleasantly crushed for hours under this revelation of love, mercy and grace. It’s coming. Unity is the product; a perfect, complete bride. II Peter 1:1 This letter is from Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to all of you who share the same precious faith we have, faith given to us by Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, who makes us right with God. 2 May God bless you with his special favor and wonderful peace as you come to know Jesus, our God and Lord, better and better. 3 As we know Jesus better, his divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive his own glory and goodness! I Corinthians 3:18 Stop fooling yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world's standards, you will have to become a fool so you can become wise by God's standards. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, "God catches those who think they are wise in their own cleverness." 20 And again, "The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are worthless." 21 So don't take pride in following a particular leader. Everything belongs to you: 22 Paul and Apollos and Peter; the whole world and life and death; the present and the future. Everything belongs to you ... (I Cor. 4:20 For the Kingdom of God is not just fancy talk; it is living by God's power.) Take time for the power to fall; its beyond your understanding. It's worth waiting for; pursuing. The most revered people in OT were the Prophets, because the Spirit of Revelation that came upon them. Kings feared them because they couldn't do anything in secret. God said I'm not going to do anything until I tell my prophets first. The Spirit of Revelation is not withheld just for people with unique gifts, but is liberally given to anyone who will pursue and ask. The Spirit of Revelation is at the backbone of our commission. It launches me into understanding of the purposes of God. Make sure when you have faith, have character (II Peter 1:5 So make every effort to apply the benefits of these promises to your life. Then your faith will produce a life of moral excellence. A life of moral excellence leads to knowing God better. 6 Knowing God leads to self-control. Self-control leads to patient endurance, and patient endurance leads to godliness. 7 Godliness leads to love for other Christians, F3 and finally you will grow to have genuine love for everyone. 8 The more you grow like this, the more you will become productive and useful in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.) Fruitfulness comes from revelation knowledge. A lot of people who were once saved forgot what it meant. Can you live 10 minutes without sin? 10 hours? 10 days? Why not a lifetime? Peter boils down the priorities of life. End result: we live with the divine nature (no stumbling). It is possible for you to NEVER stumble; not a pipe dream. Not talking about human perfection; but experiencing God and miracles that change you. When the word falls on soil that is desperate, miracles happen. Most Christians have a half-empty glass; teaching is negative; constantly putting people down; trying to get them to become something that is humanly impossible - but when the glass is half-full I have a sense of destiny and promise. Call out the sense of destiny (Christ) in people. Cities are waiting to hear. Some Christians only believe the bad news, and they use it to motivate themselves to prayer, and it works to a small measure, and in the process, the church becomes a Martha making sandwiches Jesus never ordered. But those who sit at the feet of Jesus learn to become friends of God (not just servants). Are you a servant (not bad, but the lesser) or friend of God. We are being wooed into destiny. Purposes of God being manifested on the planet. He has put it in us; comes out thru continual encounters with God, and His power. Speaking things into being. Changes. Declaring a matter, and heaven backs you up, because it was born in the heart of a friend of God. Do NOT be critical of God's friends; God will defend them. Men have been slow to catch up with the women (in passion). Prayer: pray practically (even if out of discipline): confess need and hunger (and pray verses of the Word); pray Hosea - for the outpouring (praying in discipline will often launch you into passion) Highlights: Communication with God: Prayer is the place of access into the impossible. Purpose: The renewal of the mind is done to prove, demonstrate, illustrate, what the will of God is. The renewed mind is able to manifest the dominion of God. Destiny: Out of intimacy with God, we are assigned to destroy the works of the devil. This is the privilege of life; our ultimate destiny on this planet. Channel: The renewed mind is the essential, necessary gift for that to take place. How: The renewed mind takes place because of the Spirit of Revelation (Holy Spirit gifting, imparting revelation and angels with the assignment of lifting the veil, opening eyes to unseen things) We must live in that continual conflict of getting understanding; living in a realm of faith with mystery.
